Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper. - Prepare the Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside. - Mix the Wet Ingredients:
In another bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth. - Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix. - Add the Apples:
Fold the diced apples into the batter, ensuring they are evenly distributed. - Prepare the Streusel Topping:
In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Add softened butter and use a fork or your fingers to create a crumbly mixture. - Assemble the Cake:
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the streusel topping generously over the batter. - Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. - Cool and Add Glaze (Optional):
Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes before adding the glaze. To make the glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth, then drizzle over the cake.
